With the changes that Casey and I have made in our lives, I have really been feeling like I am starting to experience true joy again. Don’t get me wrong, there are tough times…but I just feel better!
This stage Isaiah is in is probably the most fun we’ve ever had with him. He plays, giggles, crawls, explores, chases Chica, tries to stand, walks while holding our hands, gives kisses, says “dada” and is on the edge of saying “mama”. We’ve started doing sign language with him, and he totally knows what it means when we sign milk! It’s so funny! He gets all excited and fussy at the same time because he knows what’s coming!
I have pulled out/gotten a few new toys for this stage of life, some of which we put back for later-like this house… he doesn’t quite get it yet…
One thing that we have gotten Isaiah that’s tons of fun are wood block!! They are so super cute with pictures and nursery rhymes on them! He has caught on to knocking over a tower when I build one, or tries to hand me blocks to put on top. He’s so dang smart!!! I got the idea of getting him his own, when he started to play with an old toy of mine. It’s a puzzle type thing, but made of blocks. Too hard to explain, so I won’t, but it’s from Germany and I don’t want them ruined, so we got him his own to chew on! Here’s a snapshot with my blocks…Isaiah also now enjoys his puffs…. and sometimes sharing them with Chica (who really is warming up to her…slowly). I have started putting a handful of puffs in a tupperware or one of his toys and he sits and munches on them! It’s so fun to watch him become so independent….although, in his independence he has also be come such a mama’s boy! I am trying to soak that up because some day soon, that will come to and end 😦
So, this our little man, growing up SO fast, but really teaching me to enjoy the times we have…. he is showing me and teaching me what is means to experience joy. Oh, and speaking of independence…. he can now stand in his crib! AH!
