“Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, and the other is gold….Across the land, across the sea, friends forever we will always be.”
You may have heard the lyrics to the song “Make New Friends”, the first and last verses are what have come to my head as I sit and think about the friendships we have made in Arizona. We have been blessed with great friends. Ones that we will keep for a lifetime. Last week some of these friends took Casey and I out to an AWESOME dinner at a place called Grazie in Old Town Scottsdale. It was a time of great food, great laughter, and just a huge blessing for Casey and I. During dinner they gave us an amazing gift basket full of goodies that had some significance. The basket, in my opinion, was more aimed to me than Casey… BUT he enjoyed it non the less!
In the basket there was a TON of stuff from Bath and Body works. One of our close friends works there and another friend of ours is simply obsessed with their candles. We therefore got two amazing candles, some fun body stuff for both Casey & I, and a mongo body scrub I can’t wait to try!! There was a water bottle from Scottsdale Hospital… now, this isn’t just ANY water bottle… it is THE water bottle!!! I am PUMPED to have one in my possession due to the fact that I’ve wanted one since the day I first laid my eyes on the beauty. There was a bottle of white wine from a restaurant called Postinos. This place is such an amazing place to go to! If you live here and haven’t been, you MUST go! They do an AWESOME deal on Mon nights, that is irresistible. A few weeks ago some of the ladies I know went, and it was exactly what I needed at the time. I needed to sit back, relax with some of my friends, and laugh. Now when I say laugh… I mean laugh… the belly aching kind of laughing. The days before that were filled with buckets of tears due to moving, so this was such a breath of fresh air.
Now, there’s ONE more thing that was put into the basket that has been a love of mine since discovering it here in Scottsdale… cupcakes. Yes, cupcakes… not just ANY cupcakes… Sprinkles cupcakes. Yes, Sprinkles. SOOOO good!!! I think that within my time in Arizona I have taken MANY picture of myself indulging in these cupcakes. It was a very thoughtful treat for them to be added into our basket, and they all were enjoyed!
So, to all who were involved in making this evening a special one for us… THANK YOU!!! We greatly appreciate how much you guys have loved us in the past year and a half, and we will miss you so much!
“Across the land, across the sea, friends forever we will always be.”
